How this site is built

Under the hood

While building this I said "okay, done" at least ten times, and the eleventh time it really was. If you are curious, here is what is under the hood: how fast it is, what it runs on, and what I cared about.

Fast, even on a phone

Measured with PageSpeed Insights on November 8, 2026. I update it by hand, so the live site may be a little ahead.

What I took care of

  • Pages are ready before you ask

Nothing gets built when you open a page. It was made once, ahead of time, and sent from the closest server.

  • Made for everyone

Works with a keyboard and a screen reader. I checked the contrast in both themes by eye, not just by tool. Accessibility score: 100.

  • 238 tests watching my back

162 small ones and 76 that click through the real site. If I break something, I hear about it before you do.

  • No cookies, no tracking

I count visits without following anyone. You will never see a cookie banner here.

  • Two languages, read naturally

I spent a lot of time making sure it reads well in both Turkish and English, not just translated word for word.

  • Photos treated with care

27 photos, each made light, stripped of location data, with other people's licence plates blurred.

How a page gets to you

  1. I write the contentTexts, photos and projects, in two languages.
  2. Next.js builds the pagesEvery page is put together once, before anyone visits.
  3. Ready-made HTMLPlain files, nothing left to calculate.
  4. Vercel serves itCopies sit on servers around the world.
  5. You open itThe closest copy arrives almost instantly.
